CUT COLLECTIVE is a new art collective in Malmö. We gather around political art and collective resistance.

CUT COLLECTIVE’S aim is to commit to:
- Anti-capitalist practices. We refuse profit-driven logics. The money raised goes back into sustaining the community, covering costs, and supporting struggles we are active in and care about (this year, the Palestine Solidarity Groups in Malmö).
- Fair and ethical exchanges. We want to prioritize collaborations with small-scale, local, or cooperative producers, for example, when choosing coffee, vegan food, or printing. We will not cooperate with big corporate sponsors or partnerships that compromise our values.
- Decolonial and anti-racist solidarity. We want to actively work to make space for voices from non-white, colonized, and marginalized communities. This means centering that art, perspectives, and struggles as part of our collective reality. The focus for the first year of CUTZINE is anti-racist resistance and decolonization. We think it is important to put the focus on anti-racism, especially given the reality of Sweden’s current political landscape. We want to create extra space for zines, talks, and political art focusing on this, and we want to create community around this struggle. Also, 🍉 this year’s CUTZINE fundraises for the Palestine Solidarity Groups in Malmö.
- Anti-speciesist practices. We reject othering and artificial binaries that separate human and non-human animals. We will not contribute to the exploitation of others. This means: no animal products. Our space is one of solidarity across species.
- International solidarity. Solidarity tears down the artificial lines and borders drawn by capitalism. By connecting our local fights to global struggles, we share knowledge, practice mutual aid, and build collective power. We also seek to learn from and share with other zine fests around the world!
- Decentralized digital platforms. We resist surveillance capitalism in our online organizing as much as possible. We are therefore also joining (and promoting) the Fediverse!! (As in Mastodon and Pixelfed). The Fediverse is a decentralized, community-governed network that resists surveillance capitalism and corporate control. This means no ads, no feeding the rich, no training the AI with our creativity.

One of CUT COLLECTIVE’S projects is CUTZINE, which of course also follows our manifesto.
CUTZINE is more than a zine fest; it is a collective experiment in living and creating differently, together. We don’t just gather to sell or show things; we gather to resist, to imagine, to care, and to build community.
We want CUTZINE to be a space where as many people as possible can feel welcome. This means: thinking about physical accessibility, clear information, a safer-space policy, kid-friendliness, and accommodating different needs.
Joy, comradeship, love, imagination ❤️ We want joy and play. CUTZINE is a space to create, laugh, hang out, and dream, because collective care and celebration are also weapons against despair!!!
By choosing tools built on cooperation rather than on profit, our hope is to foster more radical, inclusive spaces for connection and creativity. We also want to inspire others in our extended zine and activist communities to imagine and build alternative worlds together.
By practicing all this, we hope CUTZINE is not just a fest, but a small rehearsal of the world we want to live in.

Much love,
Camila, María, Marie, Michaela (CUT COLLECTIVE)
